The jazz piece “Take Five” by Dave Brubeck was written in 1959. Aside from being a really great jazz number, the song was written in an unusual time signature, 5/4. The music is written out over the course of 60 seconds on the face of the clock. The look of the clock was influenced by artists such as Matisse who were popular during the time the song “Take Five” was recorded. I also designed a Take Five Logo.
